An unusual adventure visit to the prestigious chemistry institute during the Researcher's Night 2019 will consist of several short excursions to our laboratories, which will repeat throughout the evening. The first expedition starts at 5 pm, the last one at 8:35 pm. The duration of the excursions is 20-45 minutes.
You will witness experiments with DNA and light effects, we will explain how solar panels work (new technology for those is being developed right at IOCB), and together we will verify under which physical conditions levitation is possible. Fans of darkness can visit the underground technology facilities of our institute with a flashlight. And the most courageous ones may peek into our small tropical forest, where we keep termites and cockroaches, which start to come to life just after dark.
The program also includes a special Researcher's Night lecture by Miloslav Polášek: Science and Economics (in Czech) from 7 pm to 8 pm.
You cannot possibly miss the entrance to the building as chemical explosions and clouds of smoke that are part of our street experiments will guide you there.
The chemical circus begins, come closer, ladies and gentlemen - there's nothing to worry about!
